Bishop Dr Alan Smith

We are delighted to have Bishop Alan Smith of St Albans as one of our patrons. Bishop Alan entered the ministry in 1981 and has served as Chaplain to the Lee Valley Community as well as Diocesan Missioner in Lichfield, Archdeacon at Stoke-on-Trent and Area Bishop of Shrewsbury. He was a member of General Synod from1999 to 2001 and currently chairs the planning group to mark the 20th anniversary of the Archbishops' Commission on Rural Areas. An established author, Bishop Alan's interests include the work of the World Development Movement. He is a keen supporter of ReachOut Plus and an advocate for the positive contribution of the voluntary sector.

ReachOut/Chellington

The refurbishment of The Chellington Centre in 2005/6 was a wonderful achievement which would not have been possible without the tremendous encouragement of key people who gave generously, pulled strings and made things happen. The result is a wonderful tribute to their involvement.

As part of that development, several people were specifically invited to be patrons within ReachOut Plus but with specific focus on Chellington. These were:
